Who We Are
Young Savants is a student enrichment program in which specialists monitor, teach, tutor, council, and mentor low-income, disadvantaged male and female students in grades 6-12 on a daily basis in Boston and surrounding communities. They guide participants through the Young Savants academic and athletic programs. This includes working with the students’ teachers, parents, and school administrators to help ensure that the students meet their goals. Some of these goals include: reducing tardiness, truancy and absence from school, helping students become academically successful, providing opportunities for friendships and improved self esteem, learning the value of team work, personal effort, respect, courtesy, and other valuable qualities that will help enable students to be successful and achieve their highest potential both on and off the playing field. As a motivating factor, Young Savants
students, who achieve these goals, are eligible to attend high quality basketball tournaments, retreats, and camps on a scholarship basis. Prestigious NCAA schools such as the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill, Duke University, and Princeton University host these programs.
